A little late to the party, I saw Coco a few years back and it was absolutely incredible for me. The story follows one very similar to my own, in that learning guitar and music often felt quite alienating to my surroundings and the passion Miguel feels for his heroes resonated strongly. While my own family has been pretty wonderful with my music, it's fair to say friends and in general people I've met take their time understanding this strange world of guitar, music-making, Youtubing and the power of family towards the end is nothing short of tear-jerking.
This might surprise a few but I actually studied Spanish for five years in High School, and thanks to the brilliance and dedication of mi profesora I'm proud to say I still remember a bit of it! She shared with us her own heritage and introduced me to so many Spanish-speaking countries' cultures, let alone music and was so proud of my own little journey. Si escuche a mi rendimiento de \"Recurdame\" espero que se alegre mucho! I wanted to work on my singing and nylon-guitar playing for a while before tackling this signature song, but I finally decided to try it out! The first English portion is performed live, another rarity for my channel, and the second half tributes the film's beautiful colors with a Spanish rendition! I'd love to eventually perform the entire soundtrack for you all, but here's the most overdue track. Like most of my vocal-driven videos as of late, this one also was workshopped in my voice lessons with @TeraCMusic and I got a lot of confidence from practicing this one! I actually shared a very quick demo in November/December, and practiced the guitar parts mostly until they were easier!
