ATLAIN 1984 – Living In The Dark - FULL ALBUM - HQ AUDIO

Heavy Metal

Germany

German speed metal band from Herne formed in 1983, now disbanded.

Atlain is one of the many bands in Germany that never got the attention they deserved. This is not their fault, because since the early 80's heavy metal has been one of the most popular genres of music in the world, and thousands of bands have sprung up all over the place. Even in Germany, many new bands have become part of a scene that is set to become one of the world's greatest metal bands. Unfortunately for Atlain, they played a less innovative heavy metal style than other bands in the country. By 1984-1985, bands like Sodom and Destruction had already taken the genre to the extreme, and that's what people got interested in. Does that make \"Living in the Dark\" album worthless or Atlain bad? Absolutely not! Everything they released was more or less the same musically, in a classic heavy metal style. But what makes them really interesting is that they flirt with the horizons of speed metal. Their first full length album \"Living in the Dark\" was released back in 1984. Overall, Atlain had a lot to offer and on this album they showed a huge variety, combining melodic passages with breakneck speed at times and well-written guitar solos. Good songwriting was definitely present and even on their next album, “G.O.E.” Despite being their 1984 debut album, the production work is excellent to say the least. A group that was just getting started probably had a very limited budget and still produced a quality product, especially for the time. The album actually has a very unique sound. Singer Peter Müller was very competent, as you can see on the album, he had the ability to scream loudly and had a unique voice. Unfortunately, the band went into oblivion, and we never heard of them again, only the drummer made his way into the ranks of Rage for a few records. If you are a fan of German heavy and speed metal of the 80s, I have no doubt that you will quickly appreciate and dig material Atlain.
