Originally released in 1995, World on Fire was the second album from New York-based melodic rockers Tour de Force. Despite being active since the mid `80s, the popular circuit band wasn't able to release an album until grunge had already taken over, so they remain one of the melodic rock scene's lost treasures.
Tour de Force played the kind of arena rock that was so prevalent towards the end of the `80s - full of catchy guitar hooks, irresistible melodies, soaring vocals, just enough keyboards and of course plenty of love songs. It's simple, straightforward, feel-good melodic rock, and on World on Fire the band delivers it very well. Throughout the album you're reminded of bands like Giant, Tyketto, Roulette and even Sammy Hagar era Van Halen.
