Felixstowe Summer Sampler is a special 20 track compilation album, providing a snapshot of the surprising electronic music produced by local and expatriate residents of Felixstowe. This is the mixed version appearing on the limited edition cassette, mixed by Tom Sherlock AKA Henry Homesweet.
Felixstowe is a small seaside town on the Suffolk coast of England. Its musical history peaked in the 1960s, with pirate station Radio Caroline anchored offshore and The Who performing at the infamous Pier Pavillion (now Felixstowe Leisure Centre). Nowadays, Felixstowe is known for its sleepy holiday and retirement appeal, certainly not for an active and exciting music scene. But despite all appearances, Felixstowe has been harbouring a growing number of DIY artists over the years. As music production has become more accessible, bedroom producers have been creating art that exists beyond the limitations of small town life.
