LYRICS:
Im the one who held the nail
it was cold between my fingertips
Ive hidden in the garden
Ive denied You with my very lips
God, I fall down to my knees with a hammer in my hand
You look at me, arms open
Forgiven, forgiven
Child, there is freedom from all of it
Say goodbye to every sin
You are forgiven
Ive done things I wish I hadnt done
Ive seen things I wish I hadnt seen
just the thought of Your amazing grace
And I cry, Jesus, forgive me
God, I fall down to my knees with a hammer in my hand
You look at me, arms open
I couldve been six feet under
I couldve been lost forever
Yeah, I should be in that fire
But now theres fire inside of me
Here I am a dead man walking
No grave gonna hold Gods people
All the weight of all our evil
Lifted away, forever free
Who could believe
Who could believe
Forgiven, forgiven
You love me even when I dont deserve it
Forgiven, Im forgiven
Jesus, Your blood makes me innocent
So I will say goodbye to every sin
I am forgiven, I am forgiven
A Texas-based singer/songwriter known for his wide-ranging fusion of pop, rock, folk, electronic, bluegrass, and hip-hop, David Crowder rose to success in the early 2000s as the leader of the church music group The David Crowder*Band. Over the next decade, the band racked up numerous Dove Awards for their inspirational rock sound, releasing popular albums like Illuminate (2003), Remedy (2007), and Give Us Rest (2012). Rebranding in 2012, simply as Crowder, the singer launched an equally successful, though more stylistically varied, solo career with albums like 2014s Neon Steeple, 2016s American Prodigal, and 2018s I Know A Ghost.
