apologies if I mess up like all of the grammar in this description it is very late and Im tired ok here we go
The first time I heard of this game was when I stumbled upon a twitter giveaway that a friend Anna (spookyseamonster) was doing, and I looked it up and thought it looked pretty neat so I entered. Somehow, from like a one in fifty chance, I won the giveaway. And it was super weird for me too, because like, it never even occurred to me that those were even POSSIBLE to win. I remember rolling out of bed that morning and seeing a twitter notification on my phone that said I had been mentioned in a tweet from Anna but all I could see was \"The winner of the Night in the Woods giveaway...\" and it didn't even occur to me what the tweet could've possibly meant before I opened it.
Upon playing the game for the first time I was totally captivated. Everything from the art, soundtrack, story, characters, it's pretty damn near perfect. Its such a lovely game, and I havent even finished it yet! Since I had been enjoying it so much I decided its pretty much a necessity to cover something from it. And there were actually a few songs that made me go yup, I wanna do this one so expect more covers from this game maybe in the future!!
I was pretty inspired and determined to make this cover, so I managed to throw the whole thing together in 3 days. That did prove to be pretty tough though, because of the length of it; the original song clocks in at around five minutes without being looped. Also I tried a bunch of new stuff for this cover. For one, you probably noticed that theres a LOT more acoustic stuff in here than usual, and that was surprisingly a lot of fun for me! I also used an egg shaker, which I went out and bought specifically for this cover! It was actually surprisingly hard to figure out how the heck youre supposed to play it and get it down to practice. Also, yesterday right before I filmed this I bought a bunch of new lighting stuff, so I messed around with that a ton and I ended up using waaaay more shots than usual so I hope you guys dig the look!
Getting covers out is pretty tough when Im spending nearly all my spare time on my original album, but Im managing! Youll get another cover before the end of the month that I gladly decided to contribute to the new Pixel Mixers community album, see you then! :)
