Mika's amazing treasure box of rare Sahko music unleashes another amazing slab of cracked nordic bass explosions and abstract melodicism, this dating from 1995. Summertime writing for Helsinki residents probably means they get an extra half hour of daylight a day which might explain the slghtly warmer glow emitting from the tracks on 'Olento'. Wrapped in a unique debossed card sleeve, inside you'll find the cd inside another card holder (in cool shades of green). Enough designer lifestyle, the music will give your bass cones as much abuse as 'Metri' but where that album locked you in your fridge and left your there 'Olento' subtely increases the variance on tempo as the micro tech bump tracks swing more, the downtempo tracks make you feel hazed up and flowery and the ambience injects a certain Eno warmth. An amazing re-issue to file next to 'Metri' and 'Kantamoinen' (early best of 2005 methinks). Mika's 2005 glow will intensify even more this summer when Pan.Sonic's long muted collab with Suicide's Alan Vega drops on Mego, stand well back these fireworks can sting! Essential.
