The success of the mardi gras compilation 'On Tuesday We Wear Beads' in early 2021 led to the release of 'Saint Patrick's Day Party' later in the year. Like its predecessor, 'Saint Patrick's Day Party' is essentially a holiday collection -- here, Irish is code for party. A few songs, such as Ruby Lips McGhee's - \"Drunken Sailor,\" adhere to the spirit of Irish folk, but much of the music -- including cuts by DJ Cracker Jacks, Pogo and others -- is atmospheric and invocative, evoking the no nonsense elements of Irish music. In other words, if you're looking for true Irish folk, go elsewhere -- this is the music with rock n' roll overtones, and if you're a fan of that style, there's no better compilation available than 'Saint Patrick's Day Party'.
