3PM Better Late Than Never 1981 Jazz Fusion Funk FULL ALBUM Think Bill Connors w a bit of Holdsworth

Random Page  /  Random Album

3PM were an under-the-radar, amazing US jazz fusion funk group based in North Carolina. With a double guitar legato attack, pumping, slapping bass grooves and solid drumming -- they were awesome to experience live. They used synthesizers as well -- but on their only album ever released, I swear I cannot hear any obvious synth work happening.

3PM played a funky, heavy yet breezy fusion with ease. They easily wailed out covers of Return To Forever songs and their dual guitar attack was immense! Bassist Jerry Peek went on to play in the Steve Morse Band after 3PM folded. Their demise was a very sad day for local Raleigh-Durham and Chapel Hill, NC, USA fusion lovers. I was fortunate enough to arrange a fully autographed vinyl copy of their out-of-print LP, Better Late Than Never. It was never released on CD, but should have been! Finding a copy of their LP is tricky but not impossible. Sadly, they will never see a penny from the sale of any of these used LPs.

I realize there are other 3PM videos w/music uploaded here on YouTube but only mine has a history of sorts of 3PM and post-3PM photos. The YouTube picture of the whole band with signatures comes from my website tribute page to 3PM here: https://eer-music.com/EER_music_reviews/3PM_NC_USA_FUSION.html To my knowledge, all of 3PM are still in the music business as of 2021 - either teaching or performing.

Thank you 3PM for all the awesome moments watching you guys play live! No other NC band could pump out the fusion like you did!

It is the copy I had the whole band sign for me. I am selling it because I need more gear before I release my next album. http://www.SourceCodeX.com
